The man in the park

Hope your Wednesday is going FABULOUS.  I have been having a hard time concentrating due to the heat and having no AC in my apartment... anyhow enough about me and my problems:)

I wanted to share something that I saw yesterday at the park.

I was at a park yesterday killing time until I had my next traning appointment. Since it was really hot I found a nice shady area. As I was relaxing in my car I saw a man behind my car in one of those motorized wheel chairs. His car was actually next to mine. I didn't think much of it, he kept
complaining to his wife or friend that the chair was making an annoying beeping sound. Anywho his wife or friend left to walk the dogs. He- lets call him "George" was left there by himself . I guess he was trying to get out of the chair when he fell. Mind you I dont see him fall or hear him( I guess I was enjoying a song on the radio--probably practicing my karoke.LOL)!

I just happen to look up in my rear view mirror and there is another man there and"George" is on the ground. I would have got out and helped him but the man seemed to have it under control. And thats when I learned a lesson.

Now as the man was trying to help George up all George kept saying was " Im not hurt, Im not hurt, and I dont need help I can get up on my own"! But clearly he could not, no matter how much he tried. So the guy finally gives George his cane and George takes it but still cant get up and still refuses help. Finally the guy grabs his arm and helps George get up with his cane. Then the guy proceeds to help George fold up his motorized chair and George says :its a certain way it goes and I have to do it! Finally the man leaves and George goes about doing something with that chair.

As I saw this play out I thought about me and you. I saw how pride and stubborness can cause us to stay on the ground in life(ie a rut, bad habits, addictions..) because we do not let the people that really want to help us do so. And then when we finally allow someone to help its just enough to get us off the ground but not enough to keep us off the ground. If George would have let the man help him get up initially and help him put his chair in his car, it would have saved George alot of time and stress, but instead George was stubborn until the end.

Too many of us myself included have been like George, we waste precious time in our lives fighting the very people that want to help us. Le'ts not be like George in life or in our journey of getting healthy and fit.

Allow someone who cares to help you along the way sometime. You will find it a much easier road when you allow someone to pick you up off the ground, dust you off, make sure you are okay and send you in a better direction.
We were not meant to walk alone.

If you haven't been to check out the rest of the blog scroll down to  see how the  women from Lean Body Fit Camp  allowed us to help them and not waste time.

Just my two cents.

LBFC Case Study #2 ( How Kelly went from a size 10 to 2 in 6 months)

Client:
Kelly Dempsey,  Science Teacher, Mother of two

Problem: Kelly in her own words talks about what life was like prior to Lean Body Fit Camp:

Before I began working out at Lean Body Fit Camp, I was caught in a cycle of bad habits. I wasn't eating the right food, I wasn't eating or snacking at the right times, I was drinking too much wine, and I was inactive. I was caught up in negative self-talk that I couldn't seem to shake and served to make the cycle of habits worse”.

Kelly was just like many of our clients at fit Camp, when she came in I knew she wanted to change but she didn’t have the tools to change. And that is what we gave Kelly are the resources and tools and she ran with it.

Solution:On August 15, 2011, I started Lean Body  Fit Camp and it was one of the best decisions I have ever made. After getting through the first three months (I think these are the hardest ), my body really started to respond to the workouts and to my new eating habits. By February of 2012, I exceeded my goals and lost nearly 30 lbs! I went from a size 8/10 to a 0/2. Now, I feel like an athlete! My bad habits have been replaced with good habits and the negative self-talk has been replaced with feelings of accomplishment and pride”.

What Kelly failed to mention was that she is one of the hardest and dedicated workers at Fit Camp. We also worked a lot with her on her food selection and the amount of times she needed to eat a day. If we told her to do something whether it was tweaking her bread intake or doing a heavier weight in class she did it. Was it always perfect the first time? No nothing we ever do for the first time is perfect.  But her persistence and hard work paid off.  Its not easy, but its worth it.

Kelly's own summary of her experience at  Lean Body Fit Camp: "Lean Body Fit Camp works when you do. Chelsea and Larmar are relentless in their enthusiasm and support. The team training approach builds strong friendships and community as you work together towards common goals. And, the workouts are challenging and fun. We are always laughing at LBFC! "

I love LBFC...it's definitely a permanent part of my life....it only gets better from here!

Kelly is a perfect example of someone that came to class was willing to trust the process and herself and has gotten Awesome results. We are so proud of Kelly! If you call today you can start your free week trial and maybe say hello to Kelly in class.
IF you have a question for Kelly put it in the comment section and Ill have her answer you.

Stop procrastinationg and email or call today for your Free week trail! 562-9891217

L.B. F.C Case Study #1 (The anatomy of losing weight)

Client:  Jazmin  Fields,  age 30 (starting weight 193 current weight 163): Before starting Jazmin  her own words she  was “unhealthy out of shape and had to do something about it asap”.

Her Story: Start date June  2011 Jazmin had tried many times to lose weight prior to joining Lean Body Fit Camp. Jazmin had struggled with her weight for long time. She had tried Nutri-system – packaged processed foods which she eventually got too boring.  She tried regular gym classes with her sister Jenai – but according to her she had no coordination, no motivation, and couldn’t stick with it. She even tried the Master Cleanse. No matter what she tried, she gained the weight back over time.

This is where the story gets interesting, her awesome sister Jenai started training at Lean Body Fit Camp, and thought this would be perfect for Jazmin. Because Jazmin  was always looking for ways to lose weight. Jazmin was  hesitant about starting the Fit Camp because she had attended classes with her sister  before and Jenai is fit and coordinated and I am not. I just figured it would be another situation like that”. She tried Lean Body Fit Camps Free Week Trial, just to get her sister off of her back. And after the first week she never looked back she signed up for the 12 month  Skinny Jeans Program and got to work.

“L.B .F.C has helped me find my inner strength and will power to keep coming every day and take control of my health and body. I believe everything happens for a reason…”

Results :  In Jazmins own words "I feel so much better about my body and my health and feel I can do so much more fitness wise. Before I  started with Lean Body Fit Camp I wouldn’t even think about attempting anything requiring too much work because I don’t want to be embarrassed and out of breath. Now I’m willing to take on so much more and push myself". She is down 30 pounds, but more importantly her body fat % is down and she is focusing on feeling good and healthy and not the number on the scale.

Solution:  Although it took a few months Jazmin began to change her lifestyle habits. When she started to see some results she began to realize that she could do it, but it wasn’t going to be a short cut or quick fix. She knew if she wanted to lose the weight and keep it off fitness was going to have to be a way of life. Jazmin attributes the LBFC programs & food journal and being more aware of what she is eating day in and day out to her progress. She feels she can stick with the program at LBFC and it also challenges her to get better. She also loves the weekly goals that are set because it starts your week off with a goal that you want to meet and accomplish.

We are proud of Jazmin and looking forward to even greater things from her.

If you can identify with Jazmin and her story  and want to get started on your own story go to our website and sign up for a Free week trial or ask about our Summer specials and start your new improved life today:) www.lbfitcamp.com and maybe you will see Jazmin in class and chat with her.

The time is always now, to do the right thing.

Memorial Day Workout pics & 5 key ingredients that will ensure your fitness success

Hope your day is going Fabulous!

After a long holiday weekend gettting back into the groove of things is tough. I personally can't remember what day it is:) Anyhow we had a Great Memorial Day Workout on Monday at Lean Body Fit Camp. And before I give you the 5 Keys ingredients that will ensure your fitness success let me tell you what we did on Memorial Madness Monday!!

Yes this is real people in my class working it out!! oh yeah!

We combined our both our morning and evening classes together for ONe big workout at 9am (so people could sleep in but still have time to enjoy the day). We did a jog around the park with a few exercises in between and then we  played "Octopus" can't explain it ...its kind of like tag but not, you just had to be there.    Then we got into it and did a   60 second- 3 exercise cycle workout  for 20 min that bruned off every rib, chicken, corn, baked bean , pig feet, hog mog...(lol) they might have ate or thought about eating.

Needless to say they were beat and grateful that we were finished. Great job ladies and gentlement.

Some of the LBFC crew sorry Chrsitina and Susan Im no phtograher LOL!
After class I began to think what motivated people to get up before 10am leave there cozy bed and families and come to workout at 9am on their day off. My first thought was who wouldnt want to see me and Larmar on there day off? LOL! But then I begin to think what did all the clients that showed up that day have in common? What seperates them from my other clients and just normal people that would love to lose weight, look great and have more energy.

So in no particular order these are the ingredients to change your life, your circumstances and your heatlh:

1.Written Goals-  They all have a goal. We just had everyone write a 4 week goal on one of our boards. I believe in the saying " that a goal is ajust a dream, until you write it down". We also go over other goals throughout our program and have them write those down as well. Goals posted where we can see them daily help remind us why we are doing what we are doing.

4 Week Get Ready for summer goal board
2. Desire- The goal they have is big enough to fuel there desire within. If you want something and someone gives you the blueprint  to how to get , you will follow it gladly to get to your desired outcome. If you have lost your desire maybe your goal is someone else's or you dont want it enough to do what it takes. Burning desire to be or do something gives us staying power - a reason to get up every morning or to pick ourselves up and start in again after a disappointment” -Marsha Sinetar

3.Admit there need for help-  The greatest thing someone can do for themselves is admit they need help. For a long time I thought I could do it all. But in reality Im not very good at all things and somethings I just need someone to hold my hand and hold me accountable,or it will not get done. For example paper work or even sometimes working out. Yep! I go to group classes as well and know someone is there to push me and I love the interaction with others wanting to get better through fitness. I also hear my clients confess that they would not have come to class if they hadn't signed up already or they didnt want me blowing up there phone asking them where they have been.LOL! So accountability and acknowledging you need assistance in the process is very important.

4. Willing to pay the price- Its easy to say yes I'm ready to change my life. I want to feel better about myself, I want to look good, I want to feed my body the right foods and so on. But then the real test comes, are you willing  to commitment to changing some habits? Come to class and work hard daily? Are willing to push through the sore muscles and your mind that tells you to stop as soon as you feel a little discomfort?

We all will pay the price for what we do or dont do. A little pain through a workout now or a long stay in the hospital later? Some discomfort now, but a few weeks down the road you won't even remember the discomfort because you will feel like a totally different person?  Sometimes we have to look past the momentary pain and push through to the goal. Anything you have ever acheived  thats worth anything probably involved hard work and paying a price.

5-Mindset- Although this is #5 this is actually the most important of them all. If we are going to succeed at anything we have to get our minds right. Negitive self talk will destroy a goal before you even get started. Excuses to why you can't do something is also very detrimental. And the one I see way to often is the # mindset.( I can write a whole blog about this and probably will soon). Getting caught up in a magical number on the scale has sabatoged many people that were on there way to getting to there goal.

We live in a society that is number driven whether its how much you make a year, or how many pounds you want to lose. But see thats backward we are focused on the wrong thing. If you want more money then take your gifts and talents to the world and help them with what you have ( another blog for another time) and you will have plenty of money.  If you wamt to lose weight and feel great focus on taking care of your body. Feeding it properly, loving yourself, exercising because our bodies were meant to move, ask for help, but most of all its a lifestyle change and if you arent willing to do those things,( yes its a process) then you will never get to that magic number and if you do it by any other means( lots of shortcuts) you will either feel miserable because all you can eat is 5 grapes a day  or you will gain your weight back. So get your mind right. Showing up is half the battle the other half is getting your mind prepared for the battle.

Hope this has  helped feel free to share it with someone. Ask yourself  Do you have goals written where you can see them? Do you have a deep desire to accomplish something? Have you admitted you can't do it alone? Are you willing to pay the price? And is your mindset set on the positive or set on Negative? I always tell my Fit Campers - Get your mind right ...before you step into class. :)

Hope this helps. If you have any comments please feel free to do so. And Ill get back with you.

Finish Strong !!

8 Rules I live by for success in fitness & Life (Part I)

HOpe your week is going well!
Random Quote I found:)
I came across these rules from a fitness workshop I went to a few years ago. I remember writing these down and thinking I need to live by these rules, strategies, or what ever you would like to call them. So I'm refreshing and recommitting myself to these simple, but profound rules,
thought I'd share them with ya!

1. Choose your energy. the attitude you have every morning when you wake up is a choice. You can choose to let things, people and circumstances drag you down or you can be up beat and look for the good. You can choose to have negative self talk and get nothing done and be mad at
the world. Or speak life into bad and difficult situations and become stronger. . We say "fired up" when I ask my campers how they are feeling. Sometimes I ask them during a fairly intense workout and I ask them during that time because at that moment they are choosing there energy. They can say nothing and think, I'm tired or they can say "Fired up" at the top of their lungs and raise their energy just like that. It's your choice.

2. Perfect practice makes perfect. Some have said practice makes
perfect, but thats not true. For example when it comes to working out, if you have been doing an exercise wrong for years, just because you have always done it that way doesn't mean its right or effective.  Be open to learn new and better ways at doing things.   Bascically what you practice on a daily basis become your
habits. And if you are practicing bad habits then it will NOT make perfect. But
if you are striving to get better and implement good habits even the
small changes over time will make a difference.

3. Make the most  important thing the most important thing.
There is a quote that says "the things that matter the most should never
take a back seat to what matters the least". Check your priorities. No one ever wishes at the end of their life that they should have worked more overtime. Most wish they would have figured out what was truly valuable to them, and spent time doing that.

4.Attention to detail.
This is the most overlooked aspect in fitness
and life. We think the little things don't matter.  We half do
things, we sweep it under the rug, we only work out 2 x a week instead of
the 4 we committed to. We tell people we are going to do things and
then don't do it. We do everything half way and figure someone
else will finish it if we don't. That behavior leads to mediocraty and who wants to
live halfway.  I want to live to my fullest potential and I don't
always do it perfectly,  but Im working on the details it leads to victory
and greatness!

My time is short today so Ill be back with Part II soon!
Please feel free to share in the comment section any rules you follow or would like to share.

Thanks!

Big Box Gyms = Joke

Hope your week is going Fabulous!
A friend of mine and great fitness business owner wrote this the other day to other fitness business owners, but I wanted to share it with people that want to stay healthy and get fit. And folks  who  are looking for ways to do it safely and for the long term. Its more informative than anything. I tweaked it a bit to talk directly to you and not a business owner. He is okay with it. Thanks Pat.

"Join the Fitness Revolution!"

That sentence was part of a radio
marketing campaign a big box health
club chain was running to get members.

Really?

Aside from taking the slogan I have been saying for the past few years,
the thought of
a big box health club being revolutionary
in any way is a joke.

Big box clubs basically sold millions of
memberships doing the following:

:: Renting people access to equipment

:: Having zero relationship with their
members... unless the member went
delinquent, then they called them
constantly

:: Being 100% unconcerned with their
members' results

:: Over promising and underdelivering

Basically doing a terrible job serving
the market, leaving members with a
terrible taste in their mouths about the
experience and essentially helping
out society get fatter.

How did / do they help our society get fatter?

People have trusted these big box clubs to
help them...

...and the clubs failed. Miserably.

And they failed not because they couldn't help.

They failed because they didn't care about the
member.

They cared right up until the person signed
the contract, then the relationship ended
and the money extraction began.

And they're calling this a "Revolution?"

Liars.

What is revolutionary is what great training
based businesses are doing now:

:: Actually coaching people to results

:: Actually caring about the people they serve

:: Actually building businesses around
helping people achieve success instead
of building businesses around shiny
equipment

:: Overdelivering on every promise

That's revolutionary because it's what the
bulk of the fitness industry (big box clubs)
have been unwilling to do - yet it's exactly
what the market has wanted and needed
all along.

So whether you're part of Lean Body Fit Camp or not - you should be somewhere  that cares about you, cares about your results, and just enhances your life more in general.

Being part of the true fitness industry
revolution - and finally doing what the
big box clubs never could is an awesome Feeling!
Here is what one of our Fit Campers said:

Chelsea,
So true in what you're saying about working (power) of a group. I think that is why I did not hesitate to continue for another year with LB FitCamp. I love the group setting, it motivates me to do better even though sometimes I have days that are less productive than others. At the end of day, God did not create us to be isolated. Everything within us desire to connect with people, to have relationship. And yeah girl....working out is a relatioship!! LOL
Love you and appreciate all that you do. - Rhonda Love-  client since 2010

PS. If you are in the Huntington Beach Area we are opening up a second location so comment and Ill get back to you. Make it a great one!

Dedicated to your fitness and health success,

Chelsea C.
(Thanks Pat for the Great info..)
